My husband, Steven, and I moved to Florida in 2014 from Iowa. He had an opportunity to transfer to Florida and leave the snow behind so we did. Currently, we reside in Bradenton, FL. We enjoy traveling around the world.
Growing up was always doing crafts with my mom and drawing. Art and music were my favorites in high school. I would draw the album covers from my moms collection which were portraits for the most part. I have no idea why now, but portraits aren't my favorite to do, landscapes and still life are.
It wasn’t until my move to Florida and the friends I met at the Harrison Ranch Arts Guild did I get back into the drawing and painting, previously I had done mostly greeting cards and scrapbooking. In 2015 I picked up a paint brush again and started working art projects in my free time. I prefer to work with colored pencil and watercolor now. My inspirations are often memories of where we've traveled and experiences. Whether I'm drawing or painting, it is my form of relaxation.
I am involved with the The Parrish Arts Council and Harrison Ranch ArtsGuild. Currently I am serving as a Board Member, President and Event Planner for The Parrish Arts Council.
My artwork has been accepted into Ann Kullberg’s Colored Pencil Hidden Treasures and the Annual Color Magazine Membership Show. I have shown my work in J & J Gallery, Art Center Manatee, Rocky Bluff Library and at the Manatee County Fair.
